We specialize in very high quality starters, as well as offering amazing repair services for any starter. Below is some general information regarding your starter.

Let's get to know your starter

A starter solenoid (or starter relay) is the part of an automobile which relays a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. In many vehicles the solenoid also engages the starter pinion with the ring gear of the engine. The starter solenoid is above the starter motor. The threaded terminal at left would connect to the battery through a heavy cable. At the right end of the solenoid coil, a linkage inside the housing would engage the pinion visible in the housing at the right side of the motor.

Alternators & Generators

The alternators and generators that we offer, as well as the services which we provide for their repair, are second to none. We urge you to contact us, or visit our store as soon as possible so that we may help you!

A quick break-down of your alternator

Alternators are used in modern automobiles to charge the battery and to power the electrical system when its engine is running. Until the 1960s, automobiles used DC dynamo generators with commutators. Car collectors looking for generators and alternators in Perris, and Moreno Valley call us first to find the right part the first time!

Alternators were first introduced by the Chrysler Corporation on the Valiant in 1960, several years ahead of Ford and GM. With the availability of affordable silicon diode rectifiers, alternators were used instead. Alternators have several advantages over direct-current generators. They are lighter, cheaper and more rugged. They use slip rings providing greatly extended brush life over a commutator.

The brushes in an alternator carry only excitation current, a small fraction of the current carried by the brushes of a DC generator, which carry the generator's entire output. A set of rectifiers (diode bridge) is required to convert AC to DC. To provide direct current with low ripple, a three-phase winding is used and the pole-pieces of the rotor are shaped (claw-pole) to produce a waveform similar to a square wave instead of a sinusoid.

Air conditioning is very important, especially for those of us living in beautiful Southern California. We, here at Inland Starter Alternator AC, understand that your AC needs to be the highest in superb quality. That is why we also offer amazing AC repair services, as well as full compressors and replacement parts.

Understanding your vehicle's AC

Automobile air conditioning systems cool the occupants of a vehicle in hot weather, and have come into wide use from the late twentieth century. Air conditioners use significant power; on the other hand the drag of a car with closed windows is less than if the windows are open to cool the occupants evaporatively.

There has been much debate on the effect of air conditioning on the fuel efficiency of a vehicle. Factors such as wind resistance, aerodynamics and engine power and weight have to be factored into finding the true variance between using the air conditioning system and not using it when estimating the actual fuel mileage. Other factors on the impact on the engine and an overall engine heat increase can have an impact on the cooling system of the vehicle.
